Standard's by which to live

Standard's by which to live

Proverbs 2:1 KJV

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Proverbs 2:2 KJV

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Proverbs 2:3 KJV

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Proverbs 2:4 KJV

If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Proverbs 2:5 KJV

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:6 KJV

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:7 KJV

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Proverbs 2:8 KJV

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Proverbs 2:9 KJV

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Proverbs 2:6 holds the key to understanding these verses: For the Lord gives wisdom!

The Lord has an established communication branch that He works through. This branch is found in the following passage:

Romans 10:14 KJV

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:15 KJV

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

To hear the Words of Wisdom, they must emanate from a divine preacher, sent by God. The preacher’s responsibility is to impart the “understanding” of the wisdom conveyed when you listen to these words. Similarly, through the minister, you receive knowledge and the ability to seek further knowledge.

From these scriptures, we can deduce that a man can acquire knowledge and understanding through his own study. However, wisdom comes from a preacher. Therefore, we must have a church, and attending church is essential to attain wisdom and fulfill all that God has to offer.
